Kenyatta University (KU) is in the process of setting up a Focal Point office that will spearhead the establishment of the francophone employability center (Centres d’Employabilité Francophone – CEF)
The facility being developed in conjunction with the association of francophone universities (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie – AUF) will also entail National Offices for AUF.
In a statement to the public, the university said that the Centre is designed to provide accompaniment, training, certification, networking and tutoring services oriented towards the personal development of students through the acquisition of transversal skills, preparation for professional integration, stimulation of the entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative and creative work.
“The Centre is an AUF space designed to host students, coaches, facilitators, entrepreneurs, trainers, professionals and guests. Three main categories of services will be offered by this center (including) information/advice/career planning, competency building and certifications; and networking, mobility and openness,” the statement read in part.

“In addition to face-to-face activities taking into account local needs, the CEF will be connected to a global collaborative platform, accessible remotely, which will offer integrated access to the various services and projects existing at the AUF, in several fields: digital education, employability and sustainable development.”
AUF plans to have at least 60 employability centres around the world that offer video tutorials, trainings, webinars, online resources, internships, jobs, mobility grants and online certifications.
The centres, according to AUF, will connect students, teachers, experts, researchers, institutions and companies for support, sharing and collaboration in the scientific francophonie around essential themes for economic, social and cultural development.
