National carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) has renewed its codeshare agreement with Vietnam Airlines allowing seamless connections between Africa and Vietnam.
This follows resumptions of KQ’s flights to Thailand which kicked off on November 21, 2023.
As a result of the codeshare deal, customers of the two airlines will enjoy flexibility and choice with smooth connections via Bangkok and Nairobi to points such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Kisumu, Entebbe, Kigali, and Mombasa, among others.
Customers traveling to Vietnam can connect to Hanoi and Saigon easily via Kenya Airways’ services in Bangkok and onwards on Vietnam Airlines.
KQ resumed its services to Bangkok on November 21, 2023, offering flights three times a week on its popular B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
Travelers can buy single-ticket itineraries on Kenya Airways’ flights for their entire trip and take advantage of hassle-free flight benefits, including the airline’s baggage allowance, in addition to convenient bag check-through to the final destination.
Kenya Airways and Vietnam Airlines are members of the SkyTeam Global Airline Alliance, and frequent flyers can therefore earn miles on both airlines, while Elite Plus travelers benefit from SkyPriority services.
This comes weeks after KQ KQ signed a codeshare agreement with the third-largest Spanish carrier Air Europa to extend its reach in Europe and the United States of America.
The new agreement will allow Air Europa passengers to fly to Nairobi from Amsterdam as well as allow Kenya Airways guests to fly to Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, New York, and Miami.
The agreement, which is poised to expand customers’ travel options by providing access and convenience as guests, will also allow them to enjoy benefits such as the purchase of a single ticket, a single check-in, and connections with minimum waiting times, among others.
