Standard Group PLC has appointed Grant Thornton LLP as their external auditor effective 31st January 2024.
Grant Thornton fills a vacancy that was left at the media house following the resignation of PwC Kenya.
Before PwC joined the Mombasa Road-based media house, KPMG had also resigned as auditors of the Standard Group in 2021 without sharing more details about the exit.
“The Board of Directors of The Standard Group PLC (“the Company”) wishes to notify the public of the appointment of Grant Thornton LLP as the Company’s External Auditor with effect from 31st January 2024, to fill a casual vacancy following the resignation of PwC Kenya,” stated Standard Group.
“The Board takes this opportunity to welcome Grant Thornton LLP and extends its gratitude to PwC Kenya for the exemplary external audit services rendered to the Company during their tenure,” it added.
