The Board of Directors of Britam Holdings PLC has appointed Judy Rugasira Kyanda as an independent non-executive director.
Her appointment is subject to the Insurance Regulatory Authority’s approval.
Judy has a track record in corporate real estate services like property consultancy, valuation and advisory, property and facilities management and brokerage.
She boasts an experience of over 25 years of leadership in the real estate sector.
She is accredited to having managed high-level private-public partnerships and is conversant with global, regional and international real estate practices.
She has engaged with boards both at management and leadership levels, having served as Chairperson of several boards.
“Judy brings multi-stakeholder and multi-country exposure, expertise, and experience in implementing and providing technical advisory on strategy development for expansion into new frontiers, territories, and service diversification,” stated Britam Holdings’ Chairman Kuria Muchiru.
Judy has led and directed the expansion of property consultancy firm Knight Frank into Kigali, Rwanda.
Moreover, she has collaborated with various regional and global directors as Board chair for Knight Frank Africa Valuation Committee and Surveyor’s Registration Board in Uganda as chairperson to contribute to strategic and legal reforms in key areas of these and other organizations.

As the Managing Director (MD) of Knight Frank Uganda, she oversaw the strategic direction and operations of the firm and led the team in providing a range of services to its clients.
Judy has also successfully advised on landmark projects in Uganda like the Marriott Hotels, Arena Mall and Acacia Mall.
She holds an MSC in Real Estate Management and a BSc in Land Management, both from the University of Reading, United Kingdom (UK).
