The Board of Directors of Absa Bank Kenya has announced the resignation of Loise Wambui Gakumo as the Company Secretary.
In her replacement, Absa Kenya board has announced the appointment of Wilson Kahoro Murage as the acting Company Secretary of the lender pending regulatory approvals.
Gakumo, who according to Absa Bank Kenya is set to pursue her career outside the lender following her resignation, has served as the company secretary for a period spanning four and a half years since her appointment in April 2019.
She is credited for offering the board and its committee support and guidance during her tenure including overseeing the tier-1 lender corporate brand and name change to Absa.
Gakumo also oversaw the lender navigate the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent leadership transition including the exit of Jeremy Awori.

Murage holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree and a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in International Trade and Investments Law from the University of Nairobi.
He holds a postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law (KSL)
He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 17 years of experience.
In addition, he is a registered Certified Public Secretary and a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS).
