AAR Insurance Taps Former PS As Its Board Chair

AAR Insurance Kenya Limited has announced the appointment of Esther Koimett as the new chair of its board.

She takes over from veteran journalist Thomas Mshindi who was appointed following the retirement of Kiprono Kittony after serving for over six years.

The insurer noted that Koimett’s appointment marks a significant moment for the underwriter as it ushers in an era of dynamic leadership.

Koimett is a seasoned and distinguished public servant with an experience of 30 years in investment promotion, banking privatization, public enterprise oversight and public policy.

Both in the private and public sector, she is credited with having led and executed several high-profile and strategic transactions, projects, and initiatives on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Kenya.

Koimett has previously served as Principal Secretary (PS) State Department of Broadcasting and Telecommunications in the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs.

She has also served as the PS State Department of Transport in the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works.

Moreover, Koimett has also worked at the National Treasury as an Investment Secretary and a PS in the Ministry of Tourism and Information.

Currently, she serves on the boards of the Africo Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATID and the Art of Music Foundation (Ghetto Classical and is the Chairperson of the Board of Management of Moi Girls High School, Eldoret.

She holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce from the University of Nairobi (UoN) and a Master’s of Business Administration from the same institution.
