Airtel Money has increased the daily transaction limit for its customers to Ksh500,000.
This is after the telco has received a nod from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) to review its limit upwards from the current Ksh300,000.
The firm aims to benefit a wide range of Airtel Money customers with the move in addition to supporting the growth of digital economy in Kenya.
“We are elated about the CBK’s decision as this change will significantly empower our customers and partners by providing them with flexibility to conduct larger transactions and manage their finances more effectively,” said Airtel Money (K) Ltd Managing Director (MD)Anne Kinuthia-Otieno.
“Businesses can now conduct their operations more conveniently, efficiently and customers can access a wider range of goods and services contributing to economic growth, job creation and improved financial stability in Kenya,” she added.

The move is in tandem with the telco’s commitment to enabling seamless and affordable digital transactions countrywide.
This comes at a time the firm witnessed a surge by almost triple in the number of mobile money agents it had and envisions to close the year by hitting a target of 120,000 agents.
The cap for a single transaction remains at Ksh150,000.
The firm joins Safaricom which has also raised its daily transaction limit for M-PESA to Ksh500,000.
