Airtel Kenya has unveiled its latest franchise shop in the bustling heart of Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), marking a significant step in its urban service expansion. Located on Gaborone Road next to Nairobi Textiles, this new outlet brings Airtel’s total service points in Kenya to over 2,600.
The shop’s primary focus is on supporting the network of Airtel Money agents concentrated in downtown Nairobi. “This strategic location, our 69th outlet, will be a game-changer for our agents,” explained Aashish Dutt, Airtel Kenya’s Chief Commercial Officer. “They can now purchase and balance their float without the hassle of crossing multiple streets, which means faster, more efficient service for end customers.”
Beyond Airtel Money services, the outlet offers a comprehensive range of products and services. Distributors can purchase wholesale airtime, while individual customers have access to the latest in mobile technology with 4G and 5G broadband devices, as well as portable Pocket MiFi units for on-the-go internet connectivity. The shop also handles essential SIM card services, including new SIM sales and SIM swaps for existing customers.
For businesses and entrepreneurs, the outlet serves as a one-stop shop for setting up crucial mobile payment systems. Customers can register for Airtel Money services, as well as set up Paybill and till numbers to facilitate electronic transactions. Additionally, the shop offers convenient cash deposit and withdrawal services, further cementing its role as a financial hub in the downtown area.
“We’re bringing our full suite of services right to the doorstep of businesses and residents in downtown Nairobi,” Dutt added. “Customers can now resolve their queries in person, without navigating the CBD’s busy streets.”
This new shop is part of Airtel’s aggressive network expansion strategy across Kenya. With over 5,000 Airtel Money agents already operating in the Nairobi Metropolitan area, this outlet aims to further enhance mobile money offerings for both businesses and individuals in the CBD.
Airtel Kenya remains committed to its expansion journey, focusing on both urban centers and rural areas. The company’s ultimate goal is to bridge the financial and digital inclusion gap across Kenya, bringing essential telecommunications and financial services to all corners of the nation.
